Nature and Role of the Holy Spirit

• The Holy Spirit has been involved right from the
  beginning of time.
• Gen 11-3 In the beginning God created the
  heaven and the earth. And the earth was without
  form, and void and darkness was upon the face of
  the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the
  face of the waters. And God said, Let there be
  light and there was light.
• The FUNCTION of the Holy Spirit as demonstrated
  in the early Christian Church is not new.
• He has been working with various people (i.e.
  only selected mostly prophets) for 4000 years
  prior to the coming of Jesus Christ
• He was strongly involved during the 3½ years of
  ministering time of Jesus
• Then after the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on
  the day of Pentecost He has been mightily
  involved in the Church for the last 2000 years
• Thus He KNOWS our every problem, and He has the
  answers to all of them. And we need to spend time
  with Him, to get these answers from Him!!
• Heb 415-16 (MSG) We don't have a priest who is
  out of touch with our reality. He's been through
  weakness and testing, experienced it all--all but
  the sin. So let's walk right up to him and get
  what he is so ready to give. Take the mercy,
  accept the help.

The Omnipotence of the Holy Spirit

1. Omnipotent All Powerful, Almighty, Supreme
2. Out of all the chaos on the earth He brought
   about the whole of creation and He has been
   maintaining and supporting it every day ever
   since.
3. 1Joh 57 For there are three that bear record in
   heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost
   and these three are one.
4. Heb 110-12 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning
   hast laid the foundation of the earth and the
   heavens are the works of thine hands They shall
   perish but thou remainest and they all shall
   wax old as doth a garment And as a vesture
   shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be
   changed but thou art the same, and thy years
   shall not fail.
5. Heb 138 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to
   day, and for ever.

The Omnipresence of the Holy Spirit

• Omnipresence He is ALL Present everywhere all
  at the same time
• Psa 1397-10 Whither shall I go from thy spirit?
  or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I
  ascend up into heaven, thou art there if I make
  my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take
  the wings of the morning, and dwell in the
  uttermost parts of the sea Even there shall thy
  hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
• We cant Escape or Flee or Hide from the Presence
  of the Holy Spirit.
• There is no place where the Holy Spirit will not
  work or function in you or through you.
• But we can cause Him to be Powerless through
  our fleshly belief system
• Mat 156b (Ampl) So for the sake of your
  tradition (the rules handed down by your
  forefathers), you have set aside the Word of God
  depriving it of force and authority and making
  it of no effect in other words - Powerless

Poured out upon ALL Flesh

• Joel 228-30 And it shall come to pass
  afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon
  all flesh and your sons and your daughters shall
  prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your
  young men shall see visions And also upon the
  servants and upon the handmaids in those days
  will I pour out my spirit. And I will show
  wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood,
  and fire, and pillars of smoke.
• This Prophecy has been fulfilled for the first
  time on the Day of Pentecost in Acts 2
• Act 216-19 But this is that which was spoken by
  the prophet Joel And it shall come to pass in
  the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my
  Spirit upon all flesh and your sons and your
  daughters shall prophesy, and your young men
  shall see visions, and your old men shall dream
  dreams And on my servants and on my handmaidens
  I will pour out in those days of my Spirit and
  they shall prophesy And I will show wonders in
  heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath
  blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke
• But it is still being fulfilled today meaning
  He still pours out His Spirit on people
  everywhere today!!!
• Remember as the bible states very clearly Heb
  138 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to
  day, and for ever.
• And through The Holy Spirit being POURED OUT upon
  us, we experience an INFILLING of His Presence,
  and then His Gifts will automatically FLOW
  through you.
• This is for everyone not just a selected few
  anymore. Anyone who chooses to believe can
  receive Him and thus also His GIFTS !!
• Joh 1613-15 When the Spirit of truth comes, he
  will guide you into all the truth, for he will
  not speak on his own authority, but whatever he
  hears he will speak, and he will declare to you
  the things that are to come. He will glorify me,
  for he will take what is mine and declare it to
  you. All that the Father has is mine therefore
  I said that he will take what is mine and declare
  it to you.

• According to 1 Cor 124-11 there are 9 Distinct
  gifts of the Holy Spirit which can be grouped in
  groups of 3 gifts each
• Revelation Gifts The Infinite God, Creator of
  the Universe is revealing His TRUTH to man
• Word of Wisdom to have INSIGHT into a situation
  (Prov 3)
• Word of Knowledge To KNOW the TRUTH about a
  situation
• Discerning of Spirits To KNOW/Recognise
  atmosphere, character etc. (Acts 5, 1 Joh 41)
• Power Gifts God Imparting His own Powers and
  abilities to man
• Faith (Heb 111 6) Mustard seed (Luk176),
  Mark 1122-24 Faith of God
• Healings Mark21-12, Acts 36 What I Have I
  give unto you
• Working of Miracles Joh 1412 we can do what
  Jesus did GREATER !!
• Inspiration Gifts Speaking Gods Word, Will and
  His Heart
• Gift of Prophecy (1 Cor 143,4,39) edifies,
  builds encourage others
• Gift of Tongues (1 Cor 142,4) speaking
  mysteries edifies yourself
• Interpretation of Tongues (1 Cor 145-11,13) to
  proclaim/explain the mysteries to all
• 1Cor 124-6 Now there are diversities of gifts,
  but the same Spirit. And there are differences of
  administrations, but the same Lord. And there are
  diversities of operations, but it is the same God
  which works all in all.
• 1Pet 410 As each has received a gift, use it to
  serve one another, as good stewards of God's
  varied grace

• You Receive through BELIEVING First !!!

  shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the
  promise is unto you, and to your children, and to
  all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord
  our God shall call.

  zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may
  excel to the edifying of the church.
