Why Was de Gama Famous

• Vasco de Gama is famous for taking a sea
  voyage to India. People thought it would be
  imposable because they thought that Indian Ocean
  was not connected to other seas. Before he
  reached India he took many stops in Africa to
  trade. On May 29 1489 de Gama reached India at
  first de Gamas trade was well received by
  others. Unfortunately it didnt last long de Gama
  left India on August 29 1498. Although to get
  back with his goods he had to pay a large fine.
  He came back with goods and Indian hostages.

• His voyage opened the first water trade between
  Europe and Asia .
• Vasco de Gama took 3 ships to Asia the Berrio,
  St. Gabriel and St.Rephael.
• People respected de Gama and they believed that
  beyond the cape was the green sea of darkness .
• De Gama was led to India by the dominate spice
  trade.
• Vasco de Gama made his son famous by dieing be
  for he completed his he completed hi journey .

• I think Vasco de Gama would be interested in a
  high level compass . I believe this because he
  liked sailing. A new compass would help him get
  to destinations and back faster .It would also be
  easier to use.
