What is MSU Job-Link?
  • MSU Job-Link is an online career management
    system that is available 24 hours a day, 7 days
    per week.

How MSU Job-Link Benefits Employers
  • Convenience, 24/7 usage
  • Post jobs internships online
  • View student resumes online
  • Sign-up for On-Campus Recruiting (OCR) and
    Information Sessions online
  • Automatically receive invitations to Career Fairs
  • Announcements about your on-campus recruitment
    activities posted on MSU Job-Link Homepage
  • Students/Alumni can learn about your company and
    see your contact information, job postings, etc.
  • When job postings come through MSU Job-Link,
    Career Services staff will advertise your
    positions by emailing faculty and students

How to Get Started
  • Go to www.moreheadstate.edu/career
  • Click on the MSU Job-Link for Employers button
  • Choose one of the following the first time you
    use Job-Link
  • Click on Register to register yourself as an
    employer. You can go in later and post your job.
  • Click on Register Post a Local Job to
    register yourself as an employer and post your
    job for MSU students to view. (free)
  • Click on Register Post a NACELINK
    Multi-School Job to register yourself as an
    employer and post your job at any number of
    schools who use NACELINK. (There is a charge to
    do this.)

How to Get Started (continued)
  • After you click on one of the Register links,
    you will see the following sections. Please fill
    in every section.
  • Industry choose an industry or multiple
    industries by holding down CTRL
  • Organization Name
  • Description put a brief description of your
    company
  • Website it is very important that you list your
    web address so students can research your company
  • Services Requested leave all boxes checked so
    you will have access to all services we offer
  • Contact Information list the person(s) who will
    be managing the Job-Link account and posting jobs
    (You may have as many contacts as you want. Ask
    other contacts to register themselves in the
    system.)
  • Address
  • Click SUBMIT if you chose the Register option
    or NEXT if you chose Register and Post a Local
    Job. If you are posting your job now, you will
    see the Position Information section, if not,
    you are done with your registration.
  • After you register yourself as an employer,
    Career Services will be notified and we will
    approve your registration. You will receive an
    email back with a password and instructions on
    how to login to your account so that you can
    continue to use the system.

Logging in to your MSU Job-Link Account
  • Go to www.moreheadstate.edu/career
  • Click on the MSU Job-Link for Employers button
  • Fill out your personal profile by clicking on the
    account tab.
  • Click Save Update Record on NACELINK Schools
  • Now you are ready to post your job.
  • Under the Shortcuts, click on Create a MSU Job
    Posting or click on the Post View Jobs tab
    and then Add New. Use the Single School
    Postings tab to post for free. MSU students
    will see your posting. Go to the Multi-School
    Postings tab to pay to post your job at multiple
    schools.

Position Information Section
  • Please fill in all applicable sections. Those
    with a red are required.
  • Copy Existing allows you to get information for
    jobs you have posted in the past so that you
    dont have to retype it click on Show
    Archived and choose the job you are planning to
    copy
  • Position Type choose full-time, part-time,
    internship,
  • co-op, temporary/seasonal, or volunteer/service
    learning (Dont use the Federal or Institutional
    Student Employment category or the Graduate
    Assistant at MSU category. These categories are
    for jobs offered by MSU offices and based on the
    MSU campus.)
  • Title enter the job title for the position
  • Job Description if you have an electronic
    version of a job description, you can cut and
    paste it if you dont want to retype

  • Job Function choose all that apply to your
    position
  • Resume Receipt
  • Check email if you want to have students email
    their resume to you through Job-Link
  • Check accumulate online if you want the student
    resume to reside online and you login to
    view/download it through the Student Resumes
    (Non-OCR) tab.
  • Check other if you want to type instructions on
    how to apply (such as Pick up an application at
    the main office.)
  • Additional Documents mark any that you require
  • Requested Document Notes special instructions
    regarding requested documents
  • Posting Date

  • Expiration Date You can change this date if
    needed.
  • GPA leave blank if you do not have a GPA
    requirement
  • Graduation Date Range Start - starting range of
    acceptable graduation dates to qualify for your
    job
  • Graduation Date Range End - ending range of
    acceptable graduation dates to qualify for your
    job
  • Requisition - if you have a number associated
    with this position enter it here
  • Desired Start Date

  • Duration list how many weeks or months, etc.
    the position lasts, if applicable
  • Approximate Hours per Week
  • Class Level list all class levels eligible
    to apply for your position (use CTRL key to
    choose more than one)
  • Travel Percentage
  • Qualifications
  • Desired Majors choose any that apply to your
    job (it is best to choose individual majors
    instead of all majors for searching purposes)
  • Salary Level list hourly or salaried amount,
    or unpaid
  • Location
  • Nationwide ( You might not want to use this.
    Students can exclude nationwide jobs in a search.
    You might list individual cities/states
    instead.)
  • City
  • State
  • Country
  • Degree Level use CTRL key to choose more than
    one
  • Click SUBMIT

Tips
  • You can make changes/updates to your job posting
    at any time by clicking on the Post View Jobs
    tab and the Job Title of the job you want to
    change. When you click on the Job Title you
    will see how many students have viewed your job
    posting.
  • When you click on the Post View Jobs tab, all
    of your active job postings will be listed. You
    will see if the position has been approved
    through Career Services and have the option to
    Deactivate the job if you have filled it.
  • Several fields on the Position Information
    section are not required, but give all the
    information you have available.
  • Please report all jobs accepted by MSU students/
    alumni by emailing r.crisp_at_moreheadstate.edu.

Tips (continued)
  • Dont forget to post your internships in MSU
    Job-Link. Internships are the best way for
    students to get the experience they need to
    succeed and are a good way for you to find
    qualified employees.
  • Dont forget to manage your job postings. Be
    sure to deactivate the job if it is filled and
    look at student resumes if you are accumulating
    online. If the position is not filled by the
    expiration date and you are still searching for
    an employee, change the date to extend the
    deadline.
  • Remember to use the CTRL key to choose more
    than one answer in any scrollable box.
