fragments.

Gel Electrophoresis Procedure

• 1. Enzymes cut DNA into fragments
• 2. DNA is poured into wells on gel
• 3. An electric current moves DNA through the gel
• 4. Longer fragments move slowly and shorter
  fragments move quickly
• 5. The bands can then be compared with other
  samples of DNA
