Purpose
  • Assist soldiers with transitioning from active
    duty.
  • Ensure all soldiers, to include chapters, are
    counseled in a timely manner prior to release
    from Active Duty.
  • Explain continued service options special
    programs, features and benefits.
  • Understand and explain the mandatory appointment
    process.
  • Mandatory briefing at Transition Point 120 days
    prior to ETS.

Appointment Process
  • Soldiers should schedule an appointment NLT 90
    days prior to ETS.
  • Soldiers do not need orders to see a counselor.
  • Interviews are conducted by appointment.
  • Regulatory guidance interviews are mandatory.
    Soldiers will not clear Transition without
    completing the appointment process.
