Topic

• The subject of the symposium is Effects of
  environmental variability on cephalopod
  populations. It is a modern and very suggestive
  topic. During the symposium, from 7 to 11
  September, besides presentation on this topic,
  you are able to present oral communications or
  posters in a wide range of subjects. On the other
  hand, the subjects of the three workshops have
  been selected from 70 responses to a
  questionnaire sent to more than 500 colleagues
  around the world.
• During the four-day symposium it will also be
  also possible to present oral communications and
  posters on other topics, which were grouped as
  follows
• 7-8 and 9/09 The effects of environmental
  variability on cephalopod populations.
• 9/09 Systematics, Biogeography and Biodiversity
• 10/09 Systematics, Biogeography and Biodiversity
  and Genetics
• 11/09 Assessment and Management and Life History
• Workshops ( 3-4 September)
• Recent advances in age, growth and production
  estimations in cephalopods
• Cephalopod trophic relationships
• Review of the ecology of cephalopod pelagic wild
  paralarvae
• Assessment of cephalopod species for inclusion in
  the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species

• The meeting is held at the Caixanova Venue.
  Located in an architectural gem of the late
  nineteenth century, the Social Centre Caixanova
  has over 13,000 square metres of floor space.
  Situated in the heart of Vigo, the Caixanova
  Social Centre is a multipurpose building, which
  has a modern auditorium with a capacity for 360
  people, and rooms with different capabilities for
  group meetings
