Comcast Workplace
- Numerous features available with Comcast
Workplace allow customers to customize service
based on needs. - Speed Tiers Choose from 768 Kbps/7 Mbps to 1
Mbps/8 Mbps. - Domain Name Hosting Comcast will host a
customers domain name free of charge. - Equipment Customers can choose either an IP
gateway or a modem. - IP Address Options All customers may select a
dynamic IP address. Some customers may also
select a static IP address.

Cable modem or IP gateway?
IP Gateway
- The IP gateway provides firewall security. A
customer is still advised to implement additional
security measures. - Comcast will install the gateway to an existing
LAN, configuring according to a customers
requirements (from a pre-install checklist). - Comcast will manage the configuration of the
device, including opening ports, enabling DMZ,
enabling DHCP or port forwarding. The customer
must determine the desired configuration. - Customers may purchase a static IP, subject to
market availability. - Comcast will support the connection up to the
LAN. The customer is responsibly for ensuring
that the LAN is properly configured. - VPN support available.
Cable Modem
- The modem-only option may be best for the
customer that have a secure network locally
managed. Other considerations may apply. - No firewall.
- Support ends at the modem. Comcast will not
support any router configuration, ensuring only
that a connection is available through the modem. - Static IP not available.
