Title: RESEARCH ASSISTANTSHIPS AVAILABLE AT BOGAZII UNIVERSITY, EE DEPARTMENT

1
RESEARCH ASSISTANTSHIPS AVAILABLE AT BOGAZIÇI
UNIVERSITY, EE DEPARTMENT in the DRESS
Diagnostic Radiology Expert SystemS
project focusing on Multi-Dimensional Medical
Data Analysis and Visualization
  • A Flexible Volumetric Data Analysis and
    Visualization Platform Development
  • The research involves working on a flexible
platform (VAVframe), developed in our lab, with
    special emphasis on natural human-computer
interface design, such as using 3D monitors,
camera tracking systems, etc., for manipulating
    and visualizing multi-dimensional data.
  • This research is part of the SIMILAR NoE (EU 6th
    Framework Programme).
  • Magnetic Resonance Diffusion Tensor Image
    Analysis
  • The research aims at understanding the
connectivity in human brain based on in-vivo
MR-DTI data. This information will later be
correlated with cognitive functions and/or used
in understanding the physiological aspects of
    brain diseases.
  • This research is being carried out as part of
the SIMILAR NoE (EU 6th Framework Programme) and
in collaboration with Stanford University, LUCAS
    MRS/I Center, CA,USA
  • Computer Aided Detection / Diagnosis in Virtual
    Examinations such as Colonoscopy (CTC)
  • Our research on CTC aims detecting precursors of
colon cancer for early diagnosis. The research
involves working with mathematical models to
understand, classify, warp and deform shapes
(curved surfaces in most cases) in 3D. The
outcomes have the potential of being extended to
    several other medical applications beyond
    colonoscopy, such as angiography, etc.
  • We are collaborating with Stanford University,
    3D Radiology Laboratory, CA, USA
  • The students will be in active collaboration,
    including exchange programmes, with research
    partners including
  • The EU 6th Framework Programme (www.similar.cc)
    partners including Université Catholique de
Louvain la Neuve, Belgium, Imperial College, UK,
    and University of Linkoping, Sweden
