• The International Development Association (IDA)
  was established in 1960
• Mission To provide a source of soft development

• IDA is financed by donor countries, through

• Interest free loans 35-40 years, 10 years grace
  period, i.e. high grant element
• Increasingly pure grants (30 in IDA 14)

WB Group IFC, MIGA, ICSID

• The International Finance Corporation (est.1956)
  provides financing to private companies in
  developing countries
• The Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency
  (MIGA established 1988) to provide private
  investors insurance against political risk when
  investing in developing countries
• International Center for Settlement of Investment
  Disputes (ICSID established 1966)
