  • Leader For just as the body is one and has many
members, and all the members of the body, though
many, are one body, so it is with Christ.
  • All We praise you, O God, for the churches and
people of the Western Pennsylvania Conference,
one body, composed of many congregations from
Erie to Jollytown, from Sharon to Johnstown, from
Benezette to Bethel Park. . .

into one body - Jews or Greeks, slaves or free -
and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.
  • A We praise you, O God, for the Vision of our
Conference, to ignite and sustain a passionate
spiritual connection with all people in Western
    Pennsylvania.

  • L Indeed the body doesnt consist of one member
    but of many.
  • A Help us, O God, to strengthen the connection

make disciples of Jesus Christ for the
transformation of our communities and world.

body be? As it is, there are many members, yet
    one body.
  • A We celebrate the appointment of our pastor(s)
  • (name) to (name) United Methodist Church and
covenant with our pastor(s) to do the work of
ministry in Western PA and beyond.

  • L If one member suffers, all suffer together if
one member is honored, all rejoice together.
  • A Enlighten our hearts and minds to focus on the
needs of our world, to shape our ministry
according to the focal points of need in our
Conference, nation and global community to

6
6
  • Develop principled Christian leaders, both clergy
and lay, for the church and the world
  • Develop new places for new people and renew
    existing congregations
  • Engage in ministry with the poor
  • Stamp out killer diseases of poverty by
    improving health globally and
  • Dismantle racism wherever it may exist.

  • L . . .so that there may be no division in the
body, but that the members may have the same care
    for one another. . .
  • A Let us remember brothers and sisters who have
served faithfully as ministers of the Gospel in
the Central Conferences with little income and
pensions in their older years, for they too are
connected to each of us through Christ.
