  • No WG12 activity since

  • At least 16 additional SEDS
    need to be reviewed by WG12

PDM Module Signoff Contingency Items from Seoul
  • The following are left to be resolved prior to
    submission of PDM Modules to ISO
  • 1) ISO 10303-11 Edition 2 has to be FDIS
    published (Target Mar 03 for submission to ISO)
  • 2) 2nd Edition of ISO 10303-1004 and 10303-1006
    are TS documents (In for WG12 Final Review)
  • 3) Standing Document on Mapping Specification
    Guidelines is acceptable to SC4 (Feb 22 ballot
    closed ballot passage?)

WG3/WG12 Saturday Modules Meeting 3 Levels of
Modules
  • Level 0 Foundation Modules
  • WG12 owner
  • Level 0 will define entities, types, extensible
    selects,
  • Global Rules allowed under special circumstances
  • Level 1 Unit of Functionality Module
  • WG3, JWG8 or JWG9 owner
  • A module or an aggregation of a set of modules
    (Level 0 or 1) to provide a common set of
    functionality that will be reused in other
    modules.
  • Level 1 (UoF) module will define entities, types,
    selects, etc. and may extend selects but will
    typically not define global rules

WG3/WG12 Saturday Modules Meeting - 3 Levels of
Modules
  • Level 2 Implementation Modules (formally
    Conformance Class)
  • WG3, JWG8, or JWG9 Owner
  • A collection of modules (Level 0, 1 or 2) that
    define a capability that can be implemented and
    against which conformance classes may be defined
  • Requires a long form (ARM and MIM) generated from
    short forms of child modules
  • Level 2 modules will define entities, types,
    selects, etc., may extend selects in other
    modules, and will define subtype constraints,
    global rules, and complete selects (no empty
    selects allowed)
  • Each AP shall have a Level 2 module which
    provides a root to its complete scope. This is
    known as the AP module
  • Recommended practice that no new entities are
    created for Level 2 modules

  • This will be my last meeting with SC4
  • The US will nominate Keith Hunten, Lockheed
    Martin Aeronautics Company, as the replacement
    WG12 Convener
  • This week will focus on transition of
    tasks/responsibilities to Keith, subject to final
    SC4 approval on Friday

  • Lack of personnel and involvement has
    significantly impacted work of WG12
  • 75 of WG12 Convener time since Seoul was
    dedicated to defining and working out Quality
    Committee related items
  • Meeting slides and word of mouth defines

    Modules Repository, and SC4ONLINETM for Common
