  • Proposal/Expertise Research of the oxidative
status and oxidative metabolism enzymes activity
in mammals tissues at pathologies, connected with
    oxidative stress, and protectors action
  • Description of proposal or expertise
  • Abstract The activity is directed on the
decision of a fundamental problem of biochemistry
connected to research of functioning of
antioxidant system (??S) and oxidative metabolism
enzymes, capable to limit free-radical oxidation
(FR?), at pathologies, connected with oxidative
stress (experimental models of liver toxic
    defeat, myocardium and brain ischemia,
hyperthyroidism at rats), and also at action of
    substances-protectors (thioctic acid, citrate,
    melatonin and several synthetic substances,
received at Voronezh State University Chemical
    Faculty). Estimation of free-radical processes
intensity in analysed tissues is realised by
    biochemiluminescence method, giving the integral
characteristic of a FRO level, definition of the
contents of lipid peroxidation primary products
diene conjugates, and DNA fragmentation as index
of apoptosis development degree. Activity of AOS
    enzymes (superoxide dismutase, catalase,
    glutathione reductase and glutathione peroxidase)
and level of some antioxidants (?-tocopherol,
citrate, glutathione) in liver, myocardium, brain
and blood serum at pathologies and protectors
action are investigated. The research of
    aconitase (?H), succinate dehydrogenase (SDH),
citrate synthase (CS), NAD- and NADP-isocitrate
dehydrogenases (NAD-IDH and NADP-IDH), NAD- and
    NADP-malate dehydrogenases (NAD-MDH and
    NADP-MDH), glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase
    (G6PDH) and 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase
(6PGDH) functioning with application of purified
enzyme preparations is also spent. The research
of these enzymes expression and repression
    regulation is planed.
  • The investigation of biochemical bases of
reactive oxygen species formation regulation with
    the help of substances-protectors promotes
clarification of molecular mechanisms of FRO
intensity increase, which is a universal
    non-specific link in various diseases
    pathogenesis, prevention.

  • Proposal/Expertise The influence of inbreeding
on the display of some quantitative features in a
    downy birch and silver birch
  • Description of proposal or expertise
  • Abstract
  • Inbreeding, or closely related crossing, is
always connected with the decrease of
phenotypical values of quantitative features in
certain groups of plants. Inbreeding in
    self-pollinating plants (wheat, barley, peas,
beans, peppers, citrus plants, cotton, etc.) is a
normal phenomenon. In cross- pollinating plants
and animals inbreeding can result in the action
of harmful recessive genes, which in a homozygous
state cause partial (sublethal and subvital
genes) or full (lethal genes) destruction of
    organisms.

16
THEME 2 Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, and
Biotechnology
  • Harmful influence of inbreeding is often
revealed, for example, in self-pollination of
corn, potatoes or cabbage (the decrease in
intensity of growth, fertility the appearance of
    anomaly and deformities).
  • In hens annual coupling brother x sister
leads to the hereditary decrease in egg-laying
qualities and vitality. In human beings marriages
between cousins result in the growth of frequency
of hereditary diseases (especially rare ones) in
    children inborn deformities, stillbirths and
deaths in early age are more frequent than in
    unrelated marriages, by 2448 .
  • It is suggested to check the effects of
inbreeding on quantitative features of woody
plants (tree height, trunk diameter) by carrying
out a controllable self-pollination and free
pollination in a downy birch and silver birch.
  • Problems to be solved and results
  • Stage-by-stage production of a necessary plant
material will make it possible to check the
necessary theoretical preconditions obtained as a
result of tests on annual plants. An ultimate aim
of the work is to obtain selfed lines in birch.

    low-temperature methods for processing, refining
and separation of the components in raw and waste
materials of the foodstuff production with the
use of completely new and ecological
thermoelectric devices operating on the basis of
    Peltier and Zeebeck effect
  • Description of proposal or expertise
  • Abstract
  • New devices have been elaborated which allow to
perform oriented crystallization and melting of
ice in aqueous systems containing the components
of the foodstuff products. Crystallization is
performed from the surface of cold fingers
introduced into the bulk of aqueous system.
  • In order to control the temperature of the cold
    fingers high-performance semiconductor
    thermoelectric converters were designed which
akllow to set and check quite strictly the
temperature in a wide range drom 100 to 30
?C. As a result of multiple crystallization and
melting a high efficiency of components
separation is attained that makes it possible to
purify, concentrate and extract them from
original solutions in extremely clean ecological
conditions. With the application of this
technique power consumption is reduced while
    high-quality products can be obtained.
  • The proposed technique was tested in the
laboratory environment. The ability of separation
and refining was demonstrated for such substances
as sucrose, amino acisa glycine, lysine,
    phenylalanine, tyrosine and so on.
  • Problems to be solved and results
  • The proposed method allow to perform ecologically
clean processing of raw and waste materials of
the foodstuff production and to extract
biologically active components from the waste
    products.

  • Organization Name Voronezh State Technical
    University
  • Position in Organization Head of department of
    CAD and Information Systems
  • E-mail address sapris_at_mail.ru
  • Telephone 7 4732 55-19-54
  • Address 14, Moskovski avenue, 394000, Voronezh,
    Russian Federation
  • Proposal/Expertise Cognitive systems in complex
    objects optimization
  • Description of proposal or expertise
  • Abstract The development of cognitive systems
for weakly formalized optimization problems is
the area of investigation. Such problems arise in
search of optimal variants of complex systems
    (technical, industrial, information, social and
economic). Their feature is the impossibility of
the optimization model definition in analytic
form. Criteria and restrictions in such problems
are usually set non-analytically verbally, the
schedules, modeling algorithms, tables of the
data, etc. It complicates an aprioristic
    estimation of problems characteristics and
reduces an opportunity of a choice of effective
    optimization procedures.
  • The cognitive approach is offered to be used for
decision of this problem. The cognitive approach
for making optimum decisions assumes studying
extreme properties of objects during optimization
and accumulation of this knowledge for subsequent

    reconstructions
  • Description of proposal or expertise
  • Abstract
  • In a number of methods for study of the
geographic ambience evolution the method of soil
    chronosequences has an important significance.
The method is consisted of combined study of
unequal-age paleo-soils and their modern natural
analogs. Comparison of properties of the modern
(full - holocene) soils with ancient soils makes
it possible to establish of bioclimatic
situations and other factors of natural
environment evolution. The greater quantity of
unequal-age soils is studied in the concrete
territory, the more complete information about
changes in time of climate, soils, vegetation and
other components of natural landscapes becomes.
  • Problems to be solved and results
  • The essence of proposal project consists in
development and a comparative study in the
Parana-Plata river basin of modern soils and
series of soils, "switched off" from the soil
formation process in different times during the
period between late Pleistocene - early Holocene
and XVII-XVIII centuries. The objects, by which
it can be to reveal the paleo-soils, are
following depressions of natural erosion net
(above-floodplain terraces, flood lands of rivers
and bottom of beams), loess geological baring,
territory with eolian relief (sandy dunes, etc.),
high earthen ejections of the digging animals,
    archaeological monuments of different historical
epochs. Good safety have holocene paleo-soils,
buried under the earthen mounds of heavy
granulometric composition with thickness of more
    than 1,5 meter.

  • In the Europe such soils were studied by the
author of the project claim under artificial

fortifications) of the periods of eneolith,
bronze and early iron epochs. Besides a field
study of soil profiles it will be need to collect
soils samples for vary laboratory analyses. The
radio carbon analysis of the organic remnants in
soils and soil humus is in their turn. For the
    completeness of made paleo-ecological and

  • Proposal/Expertise Analysis of the influence of
global climate changes on erosion and deflation
in the agricultural areas of Europe and
development of projects of soil fertility
    reproduction
  • Description of proposal or expertise
  • Abstract
  • Present change of climate in agricultural area of
Europe is related to the change (increase or
decline) of total amount of precipitations, their
kind and season, and the increase of average
annual temperature mostly during winter months.
  • This process consequently resulted in the
increase of the proportion of rainfall erosion in
the total erosive destruction of soils
(especially on the territory of the Ukraine,
Moldova and other countries), and nearly complete
failure of erosion during melting of snow. The
warming most obviously contributes to the
extension of vegetation period of crops what
leads to the change of their erosion resistance
along with the increase of soil ministering.
  • A considerable weather change in winter period
which goes along with shortening of freezing
season and the increase of winter precipitations
results in transformation of wind resistance of
ecosystems that means that deflation resistance
of soils changes in the most windy spring season.
  • The influence of climate change on the frequency
and speed of winds causing deflation in South
    Europe is still not clear.
  • The climate change leads to the transformation in
the process of already eroded (deflated) soil
formation. The tempo and direction of soil
formation changes under the direct influence of
climate transformation and change of the role of
vegetation in the soil formation process.
Besides, it becomes evident that the climate
directly influences this process through the
increase of hydromorphism and heat provision of
    single territories.

  • Abstract
  • Elaboration of the automated system of the
    ecological monitoring and decision-making which
consists of several hundreds of smart ecological
    characteristic inspection sensors. Such sensors
transmit digitized and compressed information to
the communication points that are situated close
to them using radio channel. From there this
information is transmitted to the regional
monitoring centre by the standard means of the
    Internet.
