• VISION
• Accessibility for all Florida travelers
• MISSION
• The Department will provide a safe transportation
  system that ensures mobility for all travelers,
  including persons with disabilities
• GOAL
• To be one of the most accessible state
  transportation systems in the country

Program Summary

• The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT)
  is responsible for approx. 12,500 miles of
  roadways on SHS
• Includes about 2,500 miles of sidewalks and 1,300
  Department-owned buildings

• Duty to provide accessibility for users of our
  services, programs and facilities, including
  persons with disabilities
• In January 1992, FDOT initiated our ADA/
  Accessibility program
• Implement the ADA/accessibility requirements for
  the Department
