Exchange SP 2 Install
  • SBS 2003 SP1
  • Normally a simple install going from Exchange SP1
  • however IMF V1 must be removed prior to install
  • SBS 2003 R2
  • We get Exchange SP2 deployed as part of the
    installation along with WSS SP2 and Windows
    Update Services aka WSUS

Deploying Windows Mobile

    ActiveSync (4.2)
  • Step 2 Enable mobile services in Exchange
  • Step 3 - Configuring firewall Web services
  • Step 4 - Deploying an SSL certificate on SBS
  • Step 5 - Configuring device synchronization
  • Step 6 - Testing the deployment

MSFP Upgrade
  • Ensure you have full backups of Mailboxes
  • Upgrade Exchange to Service Pack 2
  • Upgrade to Activesync 4.1 on the desktop
  • Establish a partnership with mobile device
  • Use Activesync (4.1) to install MSFP
  • Choose Certificate
  • Cost -gt External trusted like Verisign
  • No Cost -gt Use Self Signed SBS Certificate

ActiveSync Mobile Administration Web Tool
  • AKA mobileadmin.exe
  • This Web tool enables admins to remotely erase
    compromised mobile devices.
  • View a list of all devices that are being used by
    any enterprise user.
  • Select/de-select devices to be remotely erased.
  • View the status of pending erase requests.
  • View a log that indicates which administrators
    have issued remote erase commands.

  • Usually supplied as a zip or .exe which contains
    a full ROM upgrade for your device
  • Imate Roms in zip format downloadable from here
    ClubImate Support
  • Take a full backup of all data stored on device
    before starting upgrade, remember device will be
    wiped !
  • Sim / Outlook will hold all contacts however
    settings like GPRS and Mobile favourites will be
    gone
