15Step 6 FEMA Approval
When do we get it?
- The plan will be submitted to FEMA for approval
after adoption by the participating communities.
The Federal Register states that review will be
completed within 45 days whenever possible. - Communities are not eligible for Hazard
Mitigation Grant Program funds until FEMA has
approved the plan.

- The mission of the Sangamon County
Multi-jurisdictional Natural Hazards Mitigation
Plan Task Force is to reduce the impact of
natural hazards on citizens, infrastructure,
private property, and critical facilities through
a combined effort of communities, institutions,
and citizenry to develop a mitigation action plan
that will be adopted and implemented by each
participating community.
