Online Resource Creation and Sharing in
Educational Settings
Research on effective mechanisms for sharing
online educational resources (content pages,
homework and exam problems, etc) across
disciplinary and institutional boundaries.
The shared content repository currently holds
over 60,000 re-useable learning resources,
including more than 18,000 sophisticated
randomizing problems. It currently joins the
resources of 3 middle schools, 16 high schools,
and 16 colleges and universities.

• The open-source freeware LearningOnline Network
  with Computer-Assisted Personalized Approach
  (LON-CAPA) has three architectural layers
• Distributed cross-institutional content
  repository
• Assembly tool for content resources
• Full-featured course management system to readily
  deploy content

The system provides a scalable framework to
efficiently disseminate online curricular
material, particularly in the STEM areas. It
promotes continual assessment of content quality
through both automated statistical and de-facto
peer-review mechanisms.
