WHAT IS ISIS?
  • ISIS Infrared Sound Interface System
  • A keyboard instrument that uses infrared light
    beams instead of keys a touch-free keyboard.

WHAT ISIS DOES
  • Sends modulated IR beams from 36 individual pads
    (keys).
  • Detects reflected IR beams from users hand.
  • Generates MIDI messages for use with a PC or
  • any MIDI instrument.
  • Teaches the user how to play using interactive
    lights.

  • To mitigate the effects of ambient IR light, the
    emitted
  • signals must be modulated.
  • Emitted signals are pulse-width modulated to
    differentiate
  • them from the ambient light.
  • Received signals are amplified and bandpass
    filtered to
  • produce a voltage corresponding to the level of
    reflection.
  • Voltage is sent to A/D converter for processing.

  • Windows application will use messages to produce
    sound
  • and teach user to play ISIS.
