- The purpose of the board is to
- Represent the interests of the moral ownership.
- Determine the benefits that the organization will
provide, keeping a long term, strategic
perspective, and - Monitor the operations to ensure that the
Executive Limitations policies are being complied
with and that the Ends policies are being
accomplished.
7Executive Limitations Sets Limits on COO
- The COO shall not cause or allow any
organizational practice, activity, decision or
circumstance, which is either - unlawful,
- imprudent, or
- in violation of commonly accepted business and
professional ethics - inconsistent with the values, morals and ethics
of FFA and agricultural education

Governance to the COO
- Within the limitations of Public Law 105-225, the
board's sole official connection to the
operational organization, its achievements, and
conduct will be through a chief operating
officer, titled the COO. - The board will view COO performance as identical
to organizational performance, so that
organizational accomplishment of board-stated
Ends and avoidance of board-proscribed means will
be viewed as successful COO performance
