What is Well-Being?
People are the heart and soul of the
Army--Soldiers, civilians, family members and
retirees. Our readiness is inextricably linked
to the well being of our people. The Army
Family, for both the Active and Reserve
Component, is a force multiplier and provides the
foundation to sustain our warrior culture."
2004 Army Posture Statement The Army has an
obligation to provide an environment that
develops resilient Army families, connects
families to the Army, and creates opportunities
for family members to pursue employment and
career opportunities. Family Support Section of
www.armyfamiliesonline.org My top priority will
be the Well-Being of Soldiers and their families.
There is no more important aspect of our effort
to win the Global War on Terrorism than taking
care of our people. Francis J. Harvey
Secretary of the Army (1/5/2005)
The focus of Army Well Being is to take care of
our Army family Before, During and After
deployment.

How can this Well-Being Program help me?
  • Soldiers and their families may suffer because
of the military's high operations tempo and the
    continuous deployment cycle.
  • The Army funds agencies that are expressly
designed to support these Soldiers and Family
    Members.
  • These agencies are only as effective if they are
    being used.
  • The USARPAC Soldier and Family Well-Being Program
serves to link the Armys agencies and services
with the Soldiers and Family members who need and
    deserve them.

Supplement to AR 600-20
  • Found at https//516sigbde.pac.army.mil/s1/
(USARPAC eLibrary link on left of page)
  • Well-Being end state
  • c. Soldiers and families are more self-reliant
and cognizant of the agencies and programs that
can provide them with the help they need during
difficult and stressful times. Command readiness
    and retention standards are met.
  • USARPAC Command Perspective
  • (2) Much like how the Army enforced Equal
Opportunity and the Prevention of Sexual
Harassment, Commanders and other leaders need to
continually inculcate in the USARPAC Family that
the command supports and encourages them to seek
help without fear of repercussion. To this end,
Commanders and other leaders are encouraged to
include well-being training in safety briefings,
    officer and enlisted professional development,
    and other mandatory formations.
  • (3) Unit Family Readiness Support Assistants
(FRSA) are encouraged to use the USARPAC
well-being tools described in paragraph 3-7 in
meeting their responsibilities to inform family
    readiness groups and Commanders.
  • Responsibility of Commanders and other leaders at
    all levels
  • (1) As a minimum, inform USARPAC Family Members
bi-annually about this program and emphasize the
counseling services provided to them by Military
One Source, Mental Health, Veterans Affairs'
    Readjustment Counseling Services, Military Family
    Life Consultant, and Chaplains (Information
    Papers Located on website).
  • (2) Ensure the USARPAC Soldier and Family
Well-Being webpage link is added to each USARPAC
    Enabling Command and DIV/BDE/BN/CO webpage.
