can be used at school and at home.
  • Scales are easily competed by teachers, parents,
and others who have the most knowledge of the
students behavior or the greatest opportunity to
observe him or her. The scores will be averaged
    between the parent and teacher.

GATES
  • Has five scales intellectually Ability, Academic
    Skills, Creativity, Leadership, and Artistic
talent. Each scale is an independent measure and
may be completed in any order. All five scales
    should be completed.
  • If the rater is uncertain or question how to rate
an item, he or she should delay responding until
they can observe the student and determine a
    rating for the item

9
GATES
  • Each question uses a 9 point scale.
  • When rating each item, think about the student in
    the following way
  • Compared to average students her age, Sherry is
    below in learning facts quickly.

10
GATES
  • Below -Average -Above
  • 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
    8 9

Three broad categories , first you need to
decide if the student is average, below average,
or above average Next, the rater, decides if the
student is low (1, 4, 7) for this broadband
rating , midway (2,5,8,) or high (3,6,9).
Remember to use the statement compared to
