15Work Plan charts priorities and schedule
Summary of Long-Range Plan Develop and exercise
a public outreach/education program for public
information and education is one of 12 core
long-term goals identified in the CSEPP Strategic
Plan. These goals correspond with the 12 CSEPP
National Benchmarks. As part of the CSEPP
strategic planning process, the U.S. Army and
FEMA will develop performance plans to guide the
execution of their respective missions. National
IPTs composed of both on-post and off-post
personnel assist the Program to meet the outcomes
described in the performance plans. The CSEPP
National Public Affairs Integrated Process Team
(PA IPT) was formed in November 2000 with a
charge to assist communities to develop and
measure public outreach activities to increase
the knowledge of emergency protective actions.
The IPT adopted a Vision Statement A public that
can and will act appropriately upon notification
of an emergency at a chemical installation. In
addition, the Public Affairs IPT evaluates
lessons learned from CSEPP exercises, evaluates
public affairs training materials, and maintains
initiatives to develop alternative joint
information centers and joint information systems.
