What is a Blog?
  • Short for weblog
  • Online journals or newsletters
  • A Web site that contains dated entries in reverse
    chronological order (most recent first) about a
    particular topic.
  • Quick way to publish news and happenings
  • A diary or history
  • A collaborative space either stand alone or
    within a website that visitors can post comments,
    link to, add to, or just read on a weekly, daily,
    hourly basis
  • A web-based publication of periodic articles
    (posts), usually presented in reverse
    chronological order. It is an online journal with
    one or many contributors.

Lets Blog Together
  • Some of your students are falling behind in class
    and you want to offer them extra credit. Instead
    of posting a topic in class for them to write
    about, you post a current event topic on your
    Blog page. You tell the students to submit their
    responses to the topic for the whole class to
    view online.

  • A Podcast is usually an audio file in MP3 format
    which is delivered online via RSS feed (webfeed)
    subscriptions. Podcast subscribers can listen to
    the show at his or her own leisure, which is the
    main attraction of this medium.
  • Podcasting is the method of distributing
    multimedia files, such as audio programs or music
    videos, over the Internet for playback on mobile
    devices and personal computers.

  • You may also use this feature on any Flex Page
    like your sites home page.

Adding Counter to Your Site
  • Want to keep track of how may users are coming to
    your home page?www.easycounter.com
  • I will let you know if I find anymore that are
    better at tracking performance data, instead of
    just counting.

Steps to Add Tracking to Your Site
  • Copy the URL of your homepage prior to going to
    the tracker sites
  • Register for one of the sites
  • Copy the code the site generates
  • Login to your Schoolwires backend, and bring up
    your home page
  • Copy the code into the View HTML at the bottom
    of the code
  • Save page and check the stats by going to site
    weekly.
