Data Integration Strategy
7
Standard
  • statXML
  • a set of XML schema that enables agencies using
any platform in any location to exchange data
over the Internet. Using statXML, government
agencies now have a standard method to exchange
data in common terms and define and register
    business processes.
  • NSO is in the second phase to improve statXML to
comply with SDMX and TH e-GIF

8
Standard
  • TH e-GIF
  • TH e-GIF defines the technical policies and
    specifications governing information flows across
governments. They cover sets of recommendation
related to system development, data naming
    standard, data integration, and technical
    standards.

9
Data Harmonization
  • Harmonizing data improves the consistency and
comparability of data across information systems
with the goal of reducing data redundancy and
inconsistencies and improving the quality and
    format of data.
  • The harmonization process
  • Clarify
  • Identify duplicate data storage or conflicting
representations of the same information and
provides the information needed to integrate data
    systems.
  • Compare
  • Compare meaning and format of related data
    elements across multiple resource
  • Design
  • Design rules and data naming.
  • E-R Diagram
  • Design a conceptual data model.
