What is it?

• The Red River Cart was used to help transport
  goods and belongings and help the buffalo hunt.

What is it used for?

• The Red River Cart was used to transport goods,
  belongings and meat. It was also used on journeys
  and for bison and buffalo hunts.

What was it made of?

• The Red River Cart was made of wood, with a light
  box frame on an axle with two large wheels.

How did it assist in the fur trade?

• It was easy to transport belongings and goods
  from as far away as St.Paul to Selkirk.
• It was also very light so you could carry a lot
  of weight.
• Families could carry most of their belongings in
  one cart.

Is it still used today?

• The Red River Cart is not used today to transport
  goods and belongings, but is used for tours and
  historical events.
