Who do we work with?
  • Children with a learning disability
    (usually IQ around 70 ish or below)
  • Families and carers the wider care network
  • Schools, other agencies, family centres,
    childrens centres, acute hospitals etc
  • Direct work with children
  • Working through carers / professionals /
    consultation
  • Teaching / training

Service Delivery
  • Approximately 220 referrals per year
  • Open referral policy - professionals / families /
    young people
  • Pathway into the service
  • Referral triaged and redirected if required
  • Initial screening (at appropriate clinic)
  • Emergency referrals within one working day
  • Urgent referrals within 2 weeks
  • Routine within 6 weeks
  • Allocated to worker within 7 days of screening
  • We do not operate a waiting list
  • Rolling caseload of approximately 250 cases at
    any time
  • DNA rate of 8.6
