  • Stamen is the part of a flower that makes pollen.
  • Pistil is where the ovary and ovule is located.
  • Sepal is green leaves that protect the petals.

What Makes a Seed?
  • Pollination is when the pollen moves to the
    ovary.
  • Fertilization is when the sperm in pollen mixes
    with the egg in the ovary.

Monocot and Dicot Seeds
  • If a seed is hard and dry, it is dormant.
  • When a seed sprouts, it germinates.
  • Monocots have one seed leaf (leaves). Dicots
    have two.
  • The 3 parts of a seed are seed coat, seed leaf,
    and embryo.
