depending on a savings of energy over 3 years may
be installed.

To fill all the voids in the wall of the gym a
fire retardant insulation is pumped into drilled
holes in the block. The holes are later repaired.

Change Orders in July
  • Taking the space under the stairs that was
considerable and converting this to a storage
area required the installation of a door,
electrical for light, fire sprinkler heads (2)
and closing off the area between the lower stair
riser and the upper stair riser. Cost of this
change is an increase of 4,039.12 to the
    contract.
  • The roof of the main gym was specified by
S.U.S.D. to have a white reflective surface. The
roofing company working under ESSEX Contractors,
our general contractor supplied a submittal that
showed no change to our original specifications
of white finish. The roofing material
subsequently was installed with a black surface.
This was unacceptable to the school district so
the general will be coating the Carlisle roof
material with Carlisle compatible materials. This
by way of error will give us another layer of
protection on the roof. A mistake that ends up
being to the school districts benefit.
  • Change order 5 is for new asphalt to be
installed in front of the gym rather than the
contracted patching job. This was rejected by
S.U.S.D. as being too expensive for the small
area. The quote was for 9,648.29 for asphalt to
an area 2100 square feet (less sidewalk of
210). The patching for trenching that had to be
done is part of the contract.
  • We will be receiving a change order shortly for
constructing an access area for the fire
departments equipment on the north side of the
gym. This will consist of a driveway access with
compacted rock surface along the entire north
side of the gym., protective bollards for the FDC
itself and relocated Fire Department Connection
(FDC) that will need to be relocated 100 feet
away from the building where originally specified
to be on the building. Estimates are not in as
    yet.
