High School Math Sequence
Movement into the Honors program is flexible
through Honors Algebra II. It is very difficult
to go from Algebra II to Honors Pre-Calculus due
to the gap in the curriculum.

Language Arts Enrichment
  • Offered in grades 4, 5, and 6.
  • Students will be drawn from the grade level based
    on a cutoff score.
  • Classes will meet two periods per 6-day cycle all
    year.

Entrance Criteria for Language Arts Enrichment
  • Program participants will be determined by a
    total points score on a spreadsheet, combining
    teacher checklist scores, an average of the last
    two portfolio writing scores, and the students
    MAP scores in Reading and Language Usage.

Notification of Participation
  • Notification letters for Accelerated/Enrichment
    Mathematics and Language Arts Enrichment will be
    mailed shortly after the school year ends.

Enrichment Chorus Selection Process All Grades
  • Participation in the fourth, fifth, and sixth
    grade ensemble is determined in the Spring of the
    academic year through a live audition process
    to be administered by the Upper Elementary School
    Music Teacher. All interested students are
    screened individually according to a rating
    system based on three considerations
  • Tonal Matching and Memory
  • Ability to sing independently from the piano and
  • Vocal Projection

Upper Elementary SchoolEnriched Art Program
  • The Enriched Art program is available to students
    in grades 4, 5, and 6.
  • Students currently in the 4th and 5th grade
    program remain in the program throughout their
    enrollment at MUES.
  • Interested students in third grade create an
    original portfolio for evaluation during school
    hours under the supervision of the UES art
    teacher.
  • Students in 4th and 5th grade interested in
    auditioning for consideration should contact Miss
    Pasquini.

    will be mailed shortly before the end of this
    school year.
