islandand when it was all over and they emerged
from the traumatic experience, they were faced
with destruction everywhere

The results of the hurricane
  • Thirty-nine people were killed, and half the
    population of 100,000 was left homeless
  • Few neighborhoods have electricity and some still
    lack running water
  • The hurricane destroyed or damaged 90 percent of
    houses and buildings
  • Nearly a month after Ivan, many Grenadians still
    are sleeping in their cars or on the floors of
    damaged houses

  • UNICEF has estimated that there are about 4,000
    children living in shelters
  • Food supply is dwindling more shipments of food
    are needed
  • 90 of Grenadians are homeless
  • Grenada has been declared a 0 economy

    HOPE THAT EVERYTHING WILL BE NORMAL AGAIN IN
    THE FUTURE
