AIM
  • To Change the documented negative experience of
    Black African and African Caribbean People using
    Mental Health Service to a positive experience by
    developing the equality diversity skills and
    knowledge of the registered Mental health Nurses
    in an in-patient care unit.

    equality diversity.

FINDINGS
  • The Nurses awareness on National local polices
    that guide practice was increased
  • There were moments of insight
  • Behaviour - learning was implemented
  • Delivering equality diversity training within
    the clinical area facilitates the implementation
    of what is learnt.
  • There is need to work with the senior workforce
    within the organisation

CONCLUSION
  • Changing the status quo depends on the
    individuals attitudes and the value they place
    on the subject of equality and diversity.
  • There is need to also work with the organisation
    and not only the individual members of staff in
    supporting and promoting a culture of equality
    and diversity.
