1The Dynamic Reports are generated with a Dynamic
Data Mining Cube that allows you to slice and
dice the data as many ways you would like.
2The Dynamic Reports are divided into Outdoor and
Paddle Groups
3Clicking on Outdoor Dynamic Reports takes you to
the Contents Page displaying numerous pre-made
reports. All reports are generated from the same
base data cube The Outdoor Topline Dynamic Cube.
4FILTERING TO CHANGE THE DATA
The Outdoor Topline Dynamic Cube opens to display
Years (rows) broken out by Months (columns). The
Dimension Menus at the top allow you to change
the filter or what you are looking at. It is
currently filtered on All Products. You change
the filters to change what you are looking at.
To change to a more specific category, click on
the All Products Menu once to see a drop down
menu.
5FILTERING TO CHANGE THE DATA
Click open the All Products dimension menu and
click once on category you wish to see. Here I
have clicked on Sleeping Bags. Once clicked, the
numbers in the table will reflect only sleeping
bag sales.
To see just Specialty Stores sales, click on All
Stores to open the menu then click Specialty.
Another Example To focus on just one period,
click open All Periods and chose the time period
you wish to see.
6CHANGING THE ROWS AND COLUMNS
To change the reports rows and columns use the
drop down menus in the reports rows or columns.
These menus allow you to choose what is displayed
in the rows or columns. To Change the Rows to
display Sleeping Bag Categories, open the menu
and click on Sleeping Bags.
7CHANGING THE ROWS AND COLUMNS
To change the columns to Years, open the Column
Menu and click All Periods.
8Now the table displays Sleeping Bags by Years in
Specialty Stores
Filtering on Outdoor Equipment and changing All
Periods to Rolling Year creates this table below
This sign creates nested subcategories. Click
it once and it will nest the next level of detail
into your rows. (See next slide)
9Now you have nested the next level down in the
product hierarchy. You can create almost any
report you want and then export it to Excel.
10EXPORTING TO EXCEL
When you have created a table you want to keep,
click the Export CSV button at the bottom of
your screen. This exports the table to Excel as a
Comma Separated File. Once you have exported to
Excel, save the file with a descriptive name and
change the file to an .xls file.
