• Committees need to have a clear focus, and a
  clear reporting
• structure
• Committees need to be flexible and fast moving,
  assigning and
• disbanding Sub-Committees or Work Groups as
  E/Business
• and Member needs dictate

• What was wrong with the old Committee structure
• No Sunset provision. Committees concentrated
  on issues that
• had matured, resulting in lack of interest
  by EMA members
• (users, vendors and providers)
• Made it difficult to fit in the new challenges
  of E/Business,
• such as Knowledge Management, Unified
  Messaging,
• Instant Messaging, Wireless, Supply
  Management, PKI, etc.
• Required that each Committee have a Mission and
  Goal
• statement - not needed! Committees should
  follow the
• Mission and Goal of the organization.
