  professional issues discussed by AAPM members in
  1972 and approved by 69 of membership.
• Committee recommended formation of the American
  Academy of Medical Physics (AAMP)
• AAPM created Professional Council

• In 1979 AAPM surveyed membership to determine if
  should increase activity in attempting to
  influence legislation regulation.
• Survey results were 311 yea, 11 nay
• In 1981, AAPM Ad Hoc Committee on Professionalism
  recommended forming ACMP.

• November 1981 AAPM Board of Directors voted to
  provided 5000 support for ACMP Constituting
  Board.
• In 1982 AAPM Board of Directors voted to support
  ACMP 26 yea, 1 nay, and 3 abstain
• In 1983, ACMP Board of Chancellors formed with at
  least one member from each AAPM chapter.
