What is SFSP?

• Summer Food Service Program for children
• Provides nutritious meals for children when
  school is not in session
• Offered at over 700 sites in Indiana

SFSP Reaches Families in Need

• The program provides free meals to children 18
  years and younger, in areas where the Free and
  Reduced eligibility percentage is greater than
  50.

Who Benefits?

• Anyone 18 years and younger can participate in
  the program.

• Summer School Students
• High School Camp Attendees
• Day Camp Participants
• Children in Daycare
• Community Youth Program Participants

Anyone with disabilities who is enrolled in a
special education program is also eligible,
regardless of age.

Does Martinsville need SFSP?

• The percentage of families in the MSD of
  Martinsville qualifying for Free and Reduced
  price meals has increased steadily.
• In 7 of our 11 schools eligibility is over 50 of
  their enrollment.

Six Elementary Schools Qualify

• Six elementary schools in the MSD of Martinsville
  have over 50 eligibility.
• We want to set up three feeding sites South
  Elementary, Central Elementary and Brooklyn
  Elementary.
• These sites will be open to all children 18 years
  and younger.
• Locations are convenient and accessible to our
  entire community.
