• January 15, 2007 Shooting at drop house. 1
  deceased undocumented alien. 17 additional
  undocumented aliens recovered and 1 weapon.
• January 25, 2007 Van carrying 7 individuals
  stopped by 2 men in attempted carjacking/road
  rage incident.
• January 27, 2007 4 heavily armed suspects
  overtake a vehicle
  transporting
  undocumented aliens
  near Eloy, Arizona.
  Attack involved
  shots fired by

  suspects. 1 person
  killed and 1 person
  injured.

• February 1, 2007 Rollover accident near
  Flagstaff, Arizona.
• February 8, 2007 Pick-up truck transporting 20
  undocumented aliens attacked by 4 suspects.
  Suspects opened fire on the pick-up truck
  resulting in 3 deaths.
• February 13, 2007 Bodies of 2 deceased Hispanic
  males found near 91st Avenue and Southern.

• February 15, 2007 Mesa Police Department
  reports coyote rip-off/home invasion.
• February 19, 2007 Drop house located with 21
  undocumented aliens. Undocumented aliens state
  they were taken by force.
• February 20, 2007 2 trucks force vehicle
  transporting undocumented aliens off the road in
  Chandler, Arizona. Armed gunmen kidnap the
  driver of vehicle with undocumented aliens.
  Attackers fire on vehicle and undocumented
  aliens.

• February 28, 2007 Van carrying 20 undocumented
  aliens rolls over near Carefree, Arizona.
  Rollover caused by attempted carjacking.
• February 28, 2007 Phoenix Police Department
  reports 2 smugglers and 10 undocumented aliens
  taken hostage. Victims released after payment of
  fee.

• March 7, 2007 Glendale Police Department
  locates drop house. 11 undocumented aliens,
  marijuana, methamphetamine and 3 weapons
  discovered during search of residence. 3
  individuals charged with Federal prohibited
  possessor charges.
• March 7, 2007 A vehicle is forced off the road
  near Warner Road. 15 undocumented aliens are
  kidnapped at gunpoint. Investigation resulted in
  the recovery of the 15 victims and an additional

  undocumented
  aliens and 7
  smugglers.

• January 30, 2007 Information that a 10 year old
  female held by smugglers. Investigation led to
  the arrest of 3 smugglers. Victim located in
  Mexico.
• February 7, 2007 2 brothers held for ransom by
  smugglers. Investigation resulted in the
  recovery of the brothers and an additional 14
  undocumented aliens. 6 smugglers arrested.
• February 25, 2007 - 1 male held for ransom by
  smugglers. Victim claimed that smugglers had
  killed somebody on February 22, 2007.
  Investigation resulted

  3 smugglers arrested.
  2 weapons seized.

• March 1, 2007 5 family members held for
  additional smuggling fees. If fee not paid
  family members would be taken to desert and
  killed. Investigation resulted in the recovery
  of the family members and 34 undocumented aliens.
  4 smugglers arrested and 1 weapon seized.
• March 5, 2007 - 1 female held for additional
  smuggling fees. Investigation resulted in the
  recovery of the victim plus 2 family members and
  an additional
  20 undocumented
  aliens.

  smuggling fees. Victim indicates he and others
  have been pistol whipped and assaulted in the
  drop house. Investigation resulted in recovery
  of victim and 25 additional undocumented aliens.
  4 smugglers arrested and 2 weapons seized.
• March 5, 2007 1 male held for ransom by
  smugglers. Investigation resulted in the
  recovery of the victim
  and an additional 23
  undocumented aliens.
  1 smuggler arrested.

  smuggling fees. Investigation resulted in the
  recovery of the victim
  and an additional 13 undocumented aliens.
  
  1 smuggler arrested and 1 weapon seized.
• March 25, 2007 - 2 male victims held for
  additional smuggling fees. Investigation
  resulted in the recovery of the victims and an
  additional 7 victims. 4 smugglers were arrested
  and 2 firearms.

• March 27, 2007 10 year old male with cerebral
  palsy male held for additional smuggling fees.
  Investigation resulted in the recovery of the
  victim along with an additional 14 undocumented
  aliens. 3 smugglers were arrested.
• April 2, 2007 6 smugglers holding up to 60
  undocumented aliens against their will.
  Investigation resulted in the recovery of 34
  victims and the arrest of 5 smugglers. 1 weapon
  was seized.
• April 6, 2007 - Multiple reports of individuals
  held for additional smuggling fees.
  Investigation resulted in the recovery of 78
  undocumented aliens and the arrest of 8
  smugglers. 1 weapon was seized.

• March 20, 2007 Phoenix Police Department
  discovers house with 101 undocumented aliens
  inside.
• April 4, 2007 Phoenix Police Department
  discovers house with 60 undocumented aliens
  inside.
• April 16, 2007 Chandler Police Department
  responds to concerned citizen call. 71
  undocumented aliens inside house.

Significant Convictions

• January 16, 2007 Fabian FRANCO-Saenz received
  19 years for his role in a violent human
  smuggling organization.
• January 23, 2007 Jesus Medina-Nevarez received
  2 life sentences, two 10-year sentences and a 7
  year sentence for his role in a violent human
  smuggling organization.
• March 3, 2007 Hector Soria pled guilty to
  charges stemming from hostage taking and torture.
  Soria hit undocumented aliens with a belt and
  buckle, cut them with a butcher knife, knocked
  out their teeth and pushed a screwdriver under
  one of the undocumented aliens toenails.
• March 6, 2007 Ruben Franco-Plaza received 2
  life sentences, two 10 year sentences and a 7
  year sentence for his role in a violent human
  smuggling.
