change into butterflies or moths.

head, a thorax, and an abdomen.

Butterflies have a spiral tube-like proboscis for
sipping nectar.

Butterflies have six thin legs for walking and
two pairs of wings for flying.

Butterflies do not grow in size but come in a
variety of sizes.

Butterflies fly in the day. Moths fly at night.

During the day, moths wing patterns provide
excellent camouflage as they rest on trees.

Most butterflies have brilliant colors. Moths
colors are duller and muted.

Moths bodies are thick and hairy. Butterflies
bodies are thin.

Butterflies antennae are simple and have a knob
at the end. Moths antennae are pointed and
fringed.

over their backs. Moths rest with their wings
outstretched.

plant. This helps crops produce seeds.
