Title: Website demonstration

Lets start with a lecturer looking for images
for a first year module on bacteriology. Our
institute is a subscriber to the Biology Image
Library, so we log in and begin by browsing the
library content in the area we think is most
relevant
3
Alternatively we could do a quick search for
images
4
(No Transcript)
5
There are many more images than are suitable, so
we refine the search to something more specific
6
We take a closer look to see if theyre suitable.
If we are not a member of subscribed institution
or if we are not logged in we would only see
but if we are logged in and a subscriber or a
member of a subscribed institution, we can see a
larger view of each image
7
(No Transcript)
8
Then we send the items we want, either straight
to a slideset or to our saved items
9
From our saved items we can more closely compare
images and send them to a slideset
10
Slidesets are customisable, based on the slideset
as a whole
11
or individual images
12
We can view the slideset in order to make sure we
are happy with it
13
And then download the slideset as a PowerPoint
presentation
14
The PowerPoint file we receive contains all the
credit and figure information and we can then add
more of our own work if necessary
15
If users have problems using the site, there are
instructions on viewing images, creating and
downloading slidesets and information on
subscribing to the image library in the About
pages
16
The library has support from well-respected

some of which are editorial board memebrs and
even contribute images themselves
