4NBEA - Introduction
- The National Business Excellence Award (NBEA) is
an annual award competition conducted by the
National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL)
with a view to recognize the business
enterprises, which have demonstrated excellence
in business whilst contributing to the economic
progress of the country.
5 Objectives
- To recognize and reward contribution made to the
economic progress of the country (Realized
growth) - To recognize enterprises who have created
capacity for economic growth and employment
generation (Future growth) - To recognize enterprises who have built
sustainable global market competitiveness
(Sustainable growth) and - To recognize enterprises who have
institutionalized best practices and business
excellence.

7 Applicant Categories
- The contestant enterprises will be grouped into
one of the five categories as follows - 1. Extra Large
- 2. Large
- 3. Medium
- 4. Small
- 5. Micro

9 Evaluation Procedure
- Application will be evaluated on the basis of a
ten (8) point criterion described under below. - Applications are reviewed and evaluated by
members of the evaluation committee in a three
stage process.
10 Evaluation Procedure
- First Stage - Desk Review
- Reviewed by technical panel and preliminary marks
indicated - Second Stage - Site Visit / Interview
- The expert panel will visit / meet the
short-listed organizations. - Third Stage - Judges Final Review
- The panel of Judges would make the final
selection
