NBEA - Introduction

• The National Business Excellence Award (NBEA) is
  an annual award competition conducted by the
  National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL)
  with a view to recognize the business
  enterprises, which have demonstrated excellence
  in business whilst contributing to the economic
  progress of the country.

Objectives

• To recognize and reward contribution made to the
  economic progress of the country (Realized
  growth)
• To recognize enterprises who have created
  capacity for economic growth and employment
  generation (Future growth)
• To recognize enterprises who have built
  sustainable global market competitiveness
  (Sustainable growth) and
• To recognize enterprises who have
  institutionalized best practices and business
  excellence.

Conceptual Framework

Applicant Categories

• The contestant enterprises will be grouped into
  one of the five categories as follows
• 1. Extra Large
• 2. Large
• 3. Medium
• 4. Small
• 5. Micro

Evaluation Procedure

• Application will be evaluated on the basis of a
  ten (8) point criterion described under below.
• Applications are reviewed and evaluated by
  members of the evaluation committee in a three
  stage process.

• First Stage - Desk Review
• Reviewed by technical panel and preliminary marks
  indicated
• Second Stage - Site Visit / Interview
• The expert panel will visit / meet the
  short-listed organizations.
• Third Stage - Judges Final Review
• The panel of Judges would make the final
  selection
