Feedback on our Assessment Approach
  • As I mentioned in my earlier communication to
you, IE 202 is the best-designed and
best-assessed course I have seen! What make your
system so effective, in my opinion, are
  • The fact that you assess each and every CLO
allows you to see in more detail what your
students learn and what they dont. This is not
as easy to see when you assess courses on a per
outcome basis. Your approach allows you to make
    more appropriate recommendations (fine tuning)
for whatever needs to be improved.
  • The thoroughness of your assessment (i.e. the
fact that you use several methods for assessing
    the CLO).
  • Your continuous improvement process. This is
actually the most critical step and it seems like
youre doing it on a regular basis, so it truly
satisfies the spirit of ABET EC 2000.

Prof. Nikos J. Mourtos San Jose State
University California, USA
  • I am impressed with your emphasis on active
learning as well as your most thorough assessment
process. I am using the assessment data and
analysis you have sent me as a stellar example in
my workshops on course design and assessment
