Nurse Specialist Interest Group

• The RCN Crohn's and Colitis Special Interest
  Group National Committee was established in 2005
  to offer nurses with an interest in IBD a
  dedicated forum
• Consists of all the Chairs and Vice Chairs of
  regional groups and RCN and BSG representatives,
  representing the regions on a national level
• Today we have 9 Regional Groups

• Establish a forum to communicate relevant
• developments within the speciality
• Set up a network to disseminate information on a
  national scale
• Create a recognised and strong national voice for
  IBD nurses
• Unite all specialist IBD nurses as a group by
  supporting active or developing regional groups
• Extend the influence of IBD nurses

The Pitfalls !

• Initially managed by PG on our behalf.
• Slow process to get info on site due to
  ABPI/legal regulations.
• Change in staffing further slowed process.
• This has meant no updates for a time.

What now!

• Management being taken over by group.
• Possibly being Bolted-On to RCN site
• Continuing support from PG in form of
  educational grant
