  • It cannot be excluded that during W7-X
    operation Paschen minimum
  • conditions (breakdown voltage ?160 V at 0.3
    3 mbarmm) exist locally
  • Powerful tool to detect hidden insulation
    defects
  • Therefore all coils are tested under Paschen
    minimum conditions in air (between 0.001
    and 100 mbar) at 9.1 kV
