  • The only CAAHEP approved CVT program in NW USA
    (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health
    Education Programs)
  • One of only 22 approved ICT programs in the
    entire USA.
  • Students are approved to take the RCIS exam
    prior to graduation (Registered Invasive
    Cardiovascular Technologist)

  • ICT graduates take the CCI national RCIS board
    exams.
  • Pass rate approaches 100
  • Thereafter 12 credits of annual continuing
    education are required to retain RCIS credential.
  • There is currently no state licensure for ICTs.

A Unique Consortium of Seattle Cardiac Hospitals
Have contracted together to
  • Provide funding for West-side ICT program
    (distance learning and West-side faculty)
  • Contract with Tacoma area community colleges
    (TCC, PC) to provide prerequisite sciences
    courses
  • Contract with Spokane Community College to
    provide the distance learning ICT education and
    oversight of program quality (to assure
    continued accreditation)
  • State start-up grant has been secured

Each participating Consortium Hospital will
  • Sponsor a student.
  • Pay for the students tuition books for 2 year
    ICT program.
  • Provide full time clinical training for the 7th
    quarter Cath Lab internship.
  • Hire the student after graduation (student has a
    3 year obligation).
  • We are currently contracting with several Puget
    Sound hospitals to join the ICT consortium,
    including Tacoma General (Multicare), Good
    Samaritan, VA, Virginia Mason, and others.

  • At the end of the 1st year each student selects
    one of 2 specialty tracks
  • Seattle students only have the invasive option.
