DIVINE
(1Co 214) The unspiritual man does not receive
the gifts of the Spirit of God, for they are
folly to him, and he is not able to understand
them because they are spiritually discerned.
This figure found on an internet study
illustrates how the Divine enters the mundane.
14
Sacramental mystery can be understood only if we
understand the meaning through All the four
dimensions.
(Mar 411) And he said to them, "To you has been
given the secret of the kingdom of God, but for
those outside everything is in parables (Mar

perceive, and may indeed hear but not
understand."

The seven sacraments touch all the stages and all
the important moments of Christian life. There is
thus a certain resemblance between the stages of
natural life and the stages of the spiritual
life.
26
THE SACRAMENTS OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION
1. The Sacrament of Baptism
27
Mat 2818 And Jesus came and said to them, "All
authority in heaven and on earth has been given
to me. Mat 2819 Go therefore and make
disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the
name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy
Spirit, Mat 2820 teaching them to observe all
that I have commanded you and lo, I am with you
always, to the close of the age."
Mar 1615 And he said to them, "Go into all the
world and preach the gospel to the whole
creation. Mar 1616 He who believes and is
baptized will be saved but he who does not
believe will be condemned.
28
BAPTISM DOES NOT SAVE
It is only a process of making the person a
disciple.
Make them disciples -Baptizing -Teaching
This discipling is done by
GodfatherParentsCommunity of Faith (Church)
29
Role of family in Discipling
Disciplining is an ongoing process To bring them
into maturity in Christ
30
(Deu 67) you shall teach them diligently to
your children, and shall talk of them when you
sit in your house, and when you walk by the
way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
31
Role of the Church in discipling
get them involved
32
2. The Sacrament of Confirmation
When they are ready they affirm their faith
themselves
Jesus is MY GOD
Discipling
33
Lords Prayer Apostles Creed Nicean Creed
The early church required these three to be
learnt by heart.
(Rom 109-10) because, if you confess with your
lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart
that God raised him from the dead, you will be
saved. For man believes with his heart and so is
justified, and he confesses with his lips and so
is saved.
34
Confirmation is done after the discipling is
advanced
35
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy
name.Thy Kingdom come,thy will be done,on
earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our
daily bread. Forgive us our trespasses, as we
forgive those who trespass against us. And lead
us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the Kingdom, the Power and the
Glory, For ever and ever. Amen

3. Holy Communion
is given after the confirmation. This is the
receiving of the believer into the community of
faith. This is the feast.
43
"Recall then that you have received the spiritual
seal, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the
spirit of right judgement and courage, the spirit
of knowledge and reverence, the spirit of holy
fear in God's presence. Guard what you have
received. God the Father has marked you with his
sign Christ the Lord has confirmed you and has
placed his pledge, the Spirit, in your hearts."
(St. Ambrose) Baptism, Holy Communion, and
Confirmation together constitute the
"sacraments of Christian initiation,"
44
You are a full fledged member of the Church of
Christ.
45
"For just as the body is one and has many
members, and all the members of the body, though
many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in
one Spirit we were all baptized into one
body-Jews or Greeks, slaves or free-and all were
made to drink of one Spirit" (First Corinthians
12.12, 13).
46
THE SACRAMENTS OF HEALING
Reconciliation, Annointing of sick
4.The Sacrament of Reconciliation
Healing the mind and the spirit
47
"The father turned to his servants 'Quick!
Bring out the finest robe and put it on him. Put
a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet.
Take the fattened calf and kill it. We will
celebrate and have a feast, for this son of mine
was dead and has come back to life. He was lost
and is found.' And the celebration began."  Luke
1623-24
48
5. The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick
Healing the body
49
"If anyone is sick, let him call on the elders of
the Church. They shall pray for him, anointing
him with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer
said in faith will save the sick man the Lord
will raise him up and if he has committed any
sins, he will be forgiven."  James 513-15
50
6. The Sacrament of Matrimony
Christian maturity - adulthood
51
"They are no longer two, therefore, but one
body." Matthew 196
Ready to build a Christian family
(2Co 614) Do not be mismated with unbelievers.
For what partnership have righteousness and
iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with
darkness?
52
The whole Church is a priestly people. Through
Baptism all the faithful share in the priesthood
of Christ.
1Pe 29 -10 But you are a
chosen race, a royal priesthood,
a holy nation,
God's own people, that you may declare the
wonderful deeds of him who called you out of
darkness into his marvelous light.
Once you were no people but now
you are God's people
53
This participation is called the "common
priesthood of the faithful."
54
We are ordained to be servantsnot rulers
55
7. The Sacrament of Holy Orders
Mat 2025-28 But Jesus called them and said, You
know that the rulers of the nations exercise
dominion over them, and they who are great
exercise authority over them. However, it shall
not be so among you. But whoever desires to be
great among you, let him be your servant. And
whoever desires to be chief among you, let him be
your servant even as the Son of Man did not
come to be served, but to serve, and to give His
life a ransom for many.

This is the New Covenant in My Blood
Jesus instituted the Holy Communion during the
Pesach Celebration of the Old Covenant
62
A covenant, in its most general sense, is a
solemn promise to do or not do something
specified. A covenant, in contrast to a
contract, is a one-way agreement whereby the
covenantor is the only party bound by the promise.
A covenant may have conditions and
prerequisites that qualify the undertaking,
including the actions of second or third parties,
but there is no inherent agreement by such other
parties to fulfill those requirements.
Consequentially, the only party that can break a
covenant is the covenantor.
What is a Covenant?

The Wicked One asks "What does this ritual mean
to you?" (Exodus 1226) By using the expression
"to you" he excludes himself from his people and
denies God. Shake his arrogance and say to him
"It is because of what the Lord did for me when I
came out of Egypt..." (Exodus 138) "For me" and
not for him for had he been in Egypt, he would
not have been freed.
The Wise One asks "What is the meaning of the
laws and traditions God has commanded?"
(Deuteronomy 620) You should teach him all the
traditions of Passover, even to the last detail.

Symbols of Sacrifice
Incense
(Lev. 1612) as a symbol of homage, adoration
and prayer.
Rev.58 "golden bowls full of incense, which are
the prayers of the Saints."
(Psalm 1412) Rev. 83-4).  Thus the gifts and
altar are incensed as a sign of the Church's
offering and prayer going up to God.  Priest and
people are also incensed since they are to unite
themselves and their prayers with the gifts that
will be offered in the Eucharistic sacrifice.

Candles

shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the
light of life.
You are the light of the world

Who his own self bare our sins in his own body
on the tree, that we, being dead to sins,
should live unto righteousness by whose
stripes ye were healed. 1Pe 224

But you area chosen race, a royal priesthood,
a holy nation, God's own people, that you may
declare the wonderful deeds of him who called you
out of darkness into his marvelous light.
Once you were no people but
now you are God's people.
