eliminating backward processes and equipment with

- In 1998, Baosteel and Shanghai Metallurgy
Companies jointed and reorganized and
technologies were transformed to old enterprises,
while backward iron, steel, and rolling
production capacity were eliminated--iron reduced
1.88 million tons, steel-making 3.75 million tons
and steel rolling 4,05 million tons. - At the same time, due to transplantation of
mature technologies, the business environment
changes completely for the Stainless Steel
branches and Special Steel Subsidiaries. At
present, emissions of Baosteel enterprises in the
industrial area of Wusong decreased and the
surrounding environment improved significantly. - The average dust reduced by 48

Baosteel Group Xinjiang Bayi ironSteel Co.,Ltd
According to the plan, Bayi Steel Company
will expand its annual output of steel from the
current 4 million tons to 10 million tons in
2012, becoming the most competitive iron steel
enterprises in the Northwest region. Through
transplantation of advanced management, key
technology, methods of product quality diagnosis,
Bayi has been benefit initially.(1) overcome the
technological difficulties of sheet production.

which increased production without increasing
the water, but decreased emission reduction,
improved energy efficiency and resources

Baosteel Zhanjiang Project
- Pearl River Delta region is one of the regions
with the largest steel demanding in China and
its steel consumption was over 40 million tons
last year. However, Guangdong Province's supply
for iron and steel was only about a quarter of
demand. - Baosteel led the reorganization of the existing
iron steel enterprises in Guangdong Province
and establish ironsteel base in Zhanjiang. This
is an important opportunity for Guangdong steel
industry to eliminate backward production
capacity, optimize industrial structure and
enhance the competitiveness of competitions. - The iron and steel base in Zhanjiang is in line
with the concept of sustainable development, is a
recycling economy development model which balance
between economic development, resources saving
and the environment protection.
