  • Temporary eye strain and headaches
  • Fatigue and stress

  • Work-related upper limb disorders including pains
    in the neck, arms, elbows, wrists, hands, fingers

Legal aspects
  • The Health and Safety at Work Act- places a
    general duty of care on employers to ensure the
    health, safety and welfare of employees whilst
    they are at work
  • The Display Screen Equipment Regulations-
    require employers to minimise the risks
    associated with DSE work by ensuring that
    workplaces and jobs are well designed

    requirements
  • Plan work activities to include breaks or changes
    of activity
  • Offer eye and eyesight tests on request and
    special spectacles if necessary
