For Caesars Gallic Wars (composed between 58
and 50 B.C.) there are several extant
manuscripts, but only nine or ten are good, and
the oldest is some 900 years later than Caesars
day. - F. F. Bruce
Dr. Bruce was educated at Univ. of Aberdeen,
Cambridge Univ. and the Univ. of Vienna. Taught
Greek first at the Univ. of Edinburgh and then at
the Univ. of Leeds. Became head of the Dept. of
Biblical History Literature at Univ. of
Sheffield in 1947.

1. If they are reliable, then what they record about
   Jesus is true.
2. If what they record of Jesus' claims and miracles
   are true, then he was right about what he said
   about God, life, and death.
