A brief history of New Years Eve New Years Eve
is a day that is first celebrated in Babylon 4000
years ago. On New Years Eve people celebrate the
ending of one year and the beginning of an other.
The way we celebrate New Years Eve has changed
over the centuries. Things like countdowns and
fireworks were added later with the invention of
the clock and gunpowder.
