Agr Class and the FFA
  • EVERYONE IS A FFA MEMBER
  • You can be as active or inactive, as you choose.
  • FFA IS PART OF YOUR GRADE
  • You must participate in at least four FFA
    Activities per each 9 weeks, this will count as a
    grade.

    the Models of Innovation Program, Community
    Development Area. Two of our members attending
    National Convention will be interviewed and the

Supervised Agriculture Experiences (SAE)
  • A project of your desire that is agriculture
    based.
  • You will maintain a record book
  • Needed for awards and higher degrees
  • On the average, FFA members make 100.00 more a
    week than the run of the mill student.

    year, youre done. Includes livestock projects.

Agriscience Dress Code
  • Lab
  • NO SHORTS
  • NO SKORTS
  • ALL Times
  • NO BAGGY CLOTHES
  • MUST HAVE LOW, CLOSED TOED AND CLOSED HEEL SHOES
  • I will assign locks (NO Charge) for lockers in
    Bathrooms.
  • Any Clothes or Towels left out of lockers on
    Fridays, WILL BE TRASHED!!!

Shoes
  • While in the Agriscience Building, the feet wear
    code is
  • Shoes must be closed toed, closed back and
    properly worn.
  • This is ALL times, class, shop and/or lab
  • IF, you are changing your shoes before class, it
    must be done by the last bell to start class.
  • Wearing rubber boots is not an alternative.

Safety Notice
  • No sitting or leaning on any furniture that is
    not designed for sitting.
  • No rolling around the classroom in the chairs.
    Get up and walk.

WORD OF THE DAY
  • Every day, when you first arrive in class, you
    are expected to do the WORD OF THE DAY, posted on
    the board.
  • They should be in a composition book and will be
    graded randomly. Only composition books will be
    graded, nothing else.

  • As a teacher, I have never failed a student.
    That is left up to you!!!
  • You fail or you succeed due to your own desires!!!

  • ONLY milk, 100 fruit juice and water are allowed
    in the Ag Building.

    drink, without permission.

The Foreign Language Myth
  • You do not have, to have a foreign language for
    admission into a Florida University. But, must
    have two classes to graduate from a Florida
    University.

  • More time for electives in HS, that are not
    available at Community College

AP Myth
  • Not needed for admit to PHCC
  • PHCC route to UF
  • Must score 3 or better on AP test for college
    credit, DE classes, just pass.

CELL PHONES
  • If I catch you displaying a cell phone in class
    for ANY reason.
  • It will go to the office and your parent must
    pick it up from Mr. Griffith. The ONLY time, you
    may use a cell phone is before school, lunch and
    after school.
  • In emergencies, if you need to make a call,
    discuss it with Mr. Ahrens, first.
  • Displaying is taking the cell out and opening
    it up, for any reason

    own design
  • On the Job Training- 1-6 periods, must be a
    completer or enrolled in a Ag. class. While we
    try to get you in a agriculture related job, we
    realize that that is not always the case.

Vocational Bright Futures Scholarships
  • 3.0 unweighted overall GPA
  • 3.5 GPA in Agriscience Classes
  • Must be a program completer
  • Must have min. SAT, ACT or CPT scores
  • Pays for 75 of tuition fees
  • Higher levels of scholarships are available, with
    better grades and test scores.

    there.
  • Wasting time is bad, Using time smartly is good.
  • Higher grades are given for Above and Beyond
