Life of Edgar Allan Poe
Edgar Allan Poe was born in Boston Jan,19 1809.
Poe's parents, David Poe Jr. and Elizabeth
Arnold Hopkins, were touring actors both died
before he was 3 years old, and he was taken into
the home of John Allan, a prosperous merchant in
Richmond, Va., and baptized Edgar Allan Poe.

Virginia's die in January 1847 After his return
north he was found unconscious on a Baltimore
street. In a brief obituary the Baltimore Clipper
reported that Poe had died of "congestion of the
brain."
Poe went to live with his aunt Maria Clemm and
her daughter. It wasnt long before he and
Virginia got married .

Theme of Annabel Lee
In this Poem, like many others, Poe is writing
about a lost, a tragedy. It is about Poe and his
love the great Annabel Lee. He tells how they
were in love, and how they were always together
in a kingdom by the sea. He said their love was
so great and so much that the angels in heaven
were jealous. That they were the cause of the
death of the Great Annabel Lee. In the end he
suffers, but says that no matter what they will
always love each other, and not even death will
separate their two souls.

Style of Edgar Allan Poe
The style of Poe is unique. He tries to bring out
the evil of humanity and show it to the world. He
is what you would call a Dark Romantics. The
reason for his writing style is because of the
life that he had. A harsh and sad life that was
filled with lost and tragedy.

Major Themes
Poe's main theme in his short stories are clearly
the fear everyone has about being buried alive
and the passivity of being in such a position,
and he deals with it in stories such as "The fall
of the House of Usher", "The black cat", "The
cask of Amontillado", "The pit and the pendulum".
From reading some of the poems that Poe has
written I would say that the main theme in his
poems is the sadness of losing a love one or of
being lonely and having no one by your side. I
also think that he wants us to think of the
feelings that we would experience if such a thing
would happen. To make us fell or think of that
terror that lurks in the back of our heads.
