  • Look at how Acupuncture can help you to have a
    more beautiful and healthier body!

6
Why does Acupuncture work?
  • Acupuncture points are regions where there is a
large quantity of nerve endings, so every
stimulation created in these regions will be sent
to our brain, which will process the information
and provide answers to the organ (s) or glandule
    (s) that are in disequilibrium. Similarly, these
answers can relieve our pain, strengthen or relax
muscles, improve our blood circulation, etc.

7
Indications of Acupuncture
  • The World Health Organization lists more than
40 conditions for which acupuncture may be used.
Some of them are as follows
  • Facial Rejuvenation
  • Cellulite
  • Weight Loss
  • Quit Smoking
  • Psychological disorders (stress, insomnia,
    depression, etc)
  • Respiratory diseases

8
Indications of Acupuncture
  • Circulatory problems
  • Digestive problems
  • Constipation
  • Edema/swelling
  • Facial paralysis
  • Assist in stroke rehabilitation
  • Dermatological problems, etc.

9
  • Make your dreams come true! That bathing suit
you thought you would never wear can now become a
reality with a proper cellulite and weight loss
    treatments.
  • Those close-up head and shoulder photographs
you always try to avoid, will no longer exist
with the proper facial treatments. You will be
over joyed to show off your new vitalized
    complexion!

10
Facial Rejuvenation
11
Facial RejuvenationA non-surgical lifting
  • It is a virtually pain-free, entirely natural
process, which mobilizes and directs one's own
internal resources, the body's "qi", to
rejuvenate the face and revitalize the whole
body. The treatment improves the texture and
appearance of wrinkles by stimulating collagen
    production.

12
Facial Rejuvenation
  • No foreign substances are used. Specific points
on the body and face are chosen according to each
person's needs. Hair-fine needles are placed to
stimulate and reinvigorate the body's energy
    flow.

13
Facial Rejuvenation
  • The treatment is followed by a Chinese facial
massage, that rejuvenates the face by
invigorating blood and lymph flow to the skin,
making the face feel smooth, vibrant and
    luminous.

14
Cellulite
15
Cellulite
16
Cellulite
  • Cellulite is the term for deposits of
subcutaneous fat and fibrous tissue. Though diet
and exercise can work to diminish body fat,
cellulite frequently still persists, as the fat
deposits are not as accessible by the bodys
metabolism. This is due to a few different
    factors.
  • Often, cellulite is found on areas with
decreased circulation of blood and lymph,
resulting in the increase of fat in the cells .
A hormonal disequilibrium may be present.

17
Cellulite
  • Electro-acupuncture works directly at the level
of the problem (the subcutaneous level) corrects
excess water retention and activates local blood
    circulation, facilitating the elimination of
toxins and fat. The muscle contractions improve
    the flaccid muscles.
  • The treatment is followed by a Chinese local
    massage, that improves the results.

18
Cellulite
  • Cellulite Acupuncture treatments are tailored
specifically for each individual, treating the
root of the problem. This is why Cellulite
Acupuncture is so effective at reducing and
eliminating unsightly cellulite. The result is
supple, firmer and smoother looking skin. Other
    benefits include
  • helps to eliminate orange peel appearance of the
    skin
  • smoothes, firms and tightens the skin
  • targets problem areas of the hips, buttocks and
    thighs
  • promotes elimination of fat and cellulite
  • prevents further accumulation of fat deposits
  • increases circulation to improve texture and
    muscle tone
  • provides re-oxygenation of the skin
  • detoxifies tissues
  • Activates fluid circulation.

19
Weight Loss
20
Weight Loss
  • Acupuncture for Weight Loss is a program
developed for each individual, that involves
losing weight and maintaining the weight loss
through creating a balance of the body.
Acupuncture serves as an adjunct therapy to a
weight loss program that also includes diet,
    exercise, and stress reduction techniques.
  • Acupuncture does not serve as a magic bullet in
the treatment of weight control. However,
acupuncture is effective in making it easier to
    lose and maintain weight loss.

21
Weight Loss
  • The insertion of acupuncture needles in
specific points has been known to release
endorphins and regulate hormones. The increase of
endorphins can subside overeating due to
emotional stress, frustration and anxiety it
also affects the hormonal and digestive systems,
thereby regulating and rebalancing the organ
systems that affect a slow metabolism and low
    energy.
  • Acupuncture has also been known to help curb
the appetite, depress cravings, rid excess water,
and stimulate the hormone system to burn off
    extra calories.

22
Acne
23
Acne
  • Acne is a disorder of the sebaceous glands of
hair follicles. Many factors are responsible for
the development of acne including hormones,
blockage of the pores, sebum secretion and
    bacterial infection.
  • According to Chinese medicine, when problems
manifest on the skin, it is a signal that a
deeper imbalance is going on somewhere in the
    body.

24
Acne
  • Acupuncture treatments are directed at
adjusting the underlying imbalance. Once this
internal problem is diagnosed and resolved, your
    skin problem will be eliminated.

25
Anxiety, Stress and Depression
  • Acupuncture, combined with Shiatsu can be very
    effective alternative to treat depression,
    anxiety, stress-induced fatigue and emotions
    swings resulting in long-term benefits.
  • Acupuncture treats the root cause of the
disease-the internal imbalance caused by the
exposure to external stress.  Such stress, if not
treated, can cause energy "blockage" or changes
of the neurotransmitters of the brain, resulting
in symptoms such as anxiety, poor sleep, fatigue,
    and eventually, depression.

26
Anxiety, Stress and Depression
  • When patients with depression receive
    acupuncture, they generally experience
improvement in the reduction of anxiety,
insomnia, as well as more energy, and over all
    well-being.
  • Best of all there is no side effect from
acupuncture treatments.  Added to these benefits,
once patients get well, they will remain well
even when they finish the treatment. It happens
because we treat the cause of the imbalance, so
our body will be able to handle daily stress
    better.

27
Quit Smoking
  • Acupuncture helps to eliminate the mental and
physical symptoms of withdrawal, due to its
highly effectiveness in calming, and relaxing the
mind, enhancing the ability to concentrate,
minimizing anxiety and alleviating feelings of
    depression. In addition, acupuncture successfully
suppresses appetite and diminishes food cravings.
  • Modern science has confirmed that smokers
    develop higher levels of nicotine-induced
    endorphins, and acupuncture stimulates the
nervous system naturally to regulate the amount
of endorphins in the body and helps clear away
    nicotine buildup.

28
Pain Relieve
  • The placement of acupuncture needles at
specific pain points releases endorphins and
opioids, the bodys natural painkillers, and
perhaps immune system cells as well as
neurotransmitters and neurohormones in the brain.
Research has shown that glucose and other
    bloodstream chemicals become elevated after
    acupuncture.

29
Pain Relieve
  • Acupuncture has been used with success in
treating conditions such as Fibromyalgia (a
chronic pain condition affecting muscles and
connective tissues), chronic headaches, neck pain
from whiplash, knee and hip pain from arthritis,
    chronic abdominal pain, headaches, menstrual
cramps, tennis elbow, osteoarthritis, lower back
pain, sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, etc.

30
Advantages of Acupuncture
  • The objectives of Acupuncture are not only to
treat the symptoms of diseases, but specially, to
treat their causes and prevent diseases.
  • This is a natural treatment, which does not use
drugs, and it has no side effects.

31
Advantages of Acupuncture
  • Acupuncture needles are metallic and sterile,
used once and discarded. Needles are solid and
slightly bigger than the width of human hair.
Patients can feel the needle pierce the skin, but
there is no pain. The puncture site is swabbed
    with a disinfectant beforehand.

32
Advantages of Acupuncture
  • Acupuncture is covered under most insurance
    plans.
  • Acupuncture fees can be also deductible from
    your income tax returns.

    Medicine!

34
Shiatsu Therapy
  • Shiatsu is a hands-on therapy that uses the
principles of anatomy and physiology. The thumbs,
palms, and fingers are used to apply pressure and
massage designated areas of the body. These areas
are called Meridian Shiatsu, and they have
similar location if compared with the Acupuncture
    Meridian.
  • This method is very relaxing, and the pressure
applied is done according to each persons
    sensitivity.

35
Shiatsu Therapy
  • Shiatsu therapy promotes the prevention and
recovery of illnesses by stimulating the immune
system and natural healing power that people
already possess. Treating the body as a whole
helps to restore the physical functions of the
    nervous system, circulatory system, bone
structure, muscles, and internal secretion and
stimulates its natural ability to heal illness.
